Floor tiles and approved subfloor areas

Raised-Floor Cleaning

In a facility that uses the underfloor space for cooling, whatever settles below the tiles ends up in the supply air. Tile surfaces and the subfloor are cleaned as separate tasks, each with its own method and approval.

Cleaning of raised-floor tile surfaces and, where approved, the underfloor space — planned so airflow and cabling are disturbed as little as possible.

Tile surfaces

The walking surface of the raised floor, cleaned without leaving residue or moisture behind.

  • Filtered vacuuming of tile surfaces, seams and perforated tiles
  • Damp mopping with cleaning agents approved for your flooring — never wet enough to reach the subfloor
  • Scuffs and marks removed where the tile finish allows it

Approved underfloor areas

The subfloor is cleaned only in the areas your site approves, in an agreed sequence.

  • A limited number of tiles lifted at a time, following a sequence agreed with your facility team
  • Filtered vacuuming of the slab and removal of loose debris, packaging and offcuts
  • Care around cabling, pathways and pedestals — nothing is moved or disconnected
  • Tiles returned to the same position and orientation, and the floor checked before handover

The exact scope is agreed with your facility team before work starts. Anything outside it — or anything your site does not approve — is left alone. How we work around live equipment.
